BlueWing Floating Islands Meet 2011 Bay Nutrient Reduction Goals
In 2009, the Chesapeake Bay program published a set of Nutrient Reduction Goals for every state in the Bay watershed. These goals were to be implemented and achieved by 2011, now less than a year away. Based on the existing scientific studies and known scientific principles of bioremediation, phytoremediation and hydroponics, we have looked at the potential for the Floating Island technology to meet these goals within the Bay watershed. The information HERE quantifies what Floating Island technology will do to reduce nutrient loads in the Chesapeake Bay, in addition to the invaluable benefits of habitat creation, wave energy attenuation and aesthetics.
